École Maternelle

Minnesota State Licensed Preschool 

Class Objective: Kindergarten readiness, building social skills, culture awareness, self-confidence, proper etiquette, problem solving, character development, and academics through theme-based learning

Pre-K Class (Petite Section 1 & 2 and Moyenne Section): 3-5 years

For consistency and successful learning we require a minimum of 4 half days or 2 full days. Classes are offered up to five days per week. Please choose from the following times:

Program Information:
All Day, 8:30am-4:00pm
Morning, 8:30-11:30am
Afternoon, 1-4:00pm

Meets Required State Curriculum:

  • The curriculum includes a research basis/philosophy statement that describes how children learn and how teachers teach
  • The curriculum includes instructional approaches to help children achieve the goals and objectives
  • The curriculum provides goals and objectives of children’s learning
  • Is reasonably aligned with the Minnesota Early Childhood Indicators of Progress
  • Provides information about the setting and environment in which learning happens
  • Provides examples of children’s learning experiences for each domain in the Minnesota ECIP domains, for each age group

CYCLE ELÉMENTAIRE: GRADES K - 6

After School Program – Elementary Education

Grande Section – Cours Moyen 2 (Grade K-5)

Beginning Level 1-2

Limit Capacity: 9 students

Class Objective: Focus on basic skills of communicating in French

Prerequisite: None (comfortable being an immersion setting)

Program Information: 
Monday – Thursday,
4:30-5:30pm

Grande Section – Cours Moyen 2 (Grade K-5)

Pre-Intermediate Level 1-4

Limit Capacity: 9 students

Class Objective: French dialogues, French phonetics & pronunciation, introduction to reading and grammar

Genre Study: Poems related to monthly theme

Prerequisite: French Language skill required (students will be placed in the right level based on speaking and reading proficiency)

One class session minimum required per week. Classes are offered up to three days per week. Please choose at least one from the following days:

Cours Élémentaire Deuxième Année – Sixième (Grade 2-6)

Intermediate Level 1-4

Limit Capacity: 9 students

Class Objective: French Conversational, culture, using past tense, and writing skits

Genre Study: Children French Literature

Prerequisite:  Pre-Intermediate Level 3 or permission of instructor

One class session minimum required per week.

Cycle Secondaire: Middle - High School

After School Program – Secondary Education

Cinquième Année – Première Année (Grade 7-12)

Intermediate Level 1-4

Limit Capacity: 9 students

Class Objective:  French Conversational, culture, using past tense, understanding grammar rules, and writing short paragraphs to short essays

Genre Study: French Literature

Prerequisite:  Pre-Intermediate Level 3 or permission of instructor

One class session minimum required per week.

A.P. French Prep Class – High School

Limit Capacity: 9 students

Class Objective: Students cultivate understanding of French language and culture by applying interpersonal, interpretive, and presentation modes of communication in real-life situations as they explore concepts related to family and community, personal and public identity, beauty and aesthetics, science and technology, contemporary life, and global challenges. Equivalent to an intermediate level college course in French.

Prerequisite:  At least five years of French and a freshman in high school 

One class session minimum required per week. 

Program Information: Thursday, 6:00-7:00pm

School Release

* Students over the age of 6 are required to wear a mask

We are offering our space for students to do their e-learning in a classroom setting. School Release is open to all students however we can help French and Spanish immersion students with their language work.

Adult Classes

Beginner Conversational

Level 1-2

Class Description: Learn French phrases that are commonly used at the airport, a hotel, a restaurant, and among your French colleagues. Practice French vocabulary with the instructor and fellow classmates. Students will also be given worksheets and activities for at home practice.  

Winter Session: January 12 – March 23

Program Information: Monday, 7–8:30pm

Number of Classes: 6

Cost: $120

Materials Needed:  French/English dictionary, pen/pencil, notebook , 3 ring binder

Notes: Classes are non-refundable unless canceled by teacher. This doesn’t apply to inclement weather.

Instructor:  Eyala Manga

Intermediate Conversational

Level 3-5

Class Objective: Intense practice in French conversation focusing on increasing and developing listening and communication skills. Provides instruction in its target language for at least three of the following areas: students’ reading, writing, speaking and listening in French and cultures and cultural practices of the French-speaking world.

Prerequisite: Intermediate Level 1 & 2 or permission of instructor

Fall Session: September 15 – December 15
Winter Session: January 12 – March 23
Spring Session: April 13 – May 11
Summer Session: July 13 – August 17

Program Information: Tuesday, 7-8:30pm

“Mommy & Me”

Early Childhood Family Education

Limit Capacity: 5 families, Ages: 18-36 months

Class Objective: Learn some fun words & songs in French, come & meet some new friends! A small snack for the children will be provided.

Winter Session: January 31 – March 14
Spring Session: April 4 – May 23

Program Information: Thursday, 9:30-10:10am

Number of Classes: 8

Cost: $80

Note: Classes are non-refundable unless canceled by teacher. This doesn’t apply to inclement weather.

Register

The registration forms must be filled out prior to the start of the school year. A $75 non-refundable processing fee must be mailed to the office to secure a space for the student (this does not apply to the adult evening class). Classes are non-refundable due to inclement weather, cancellation by parent/student, or no show by student. By filling out the school registration form you have agreed to abide with these terms.

Registration forms are per academic year and are not necessary for each session. Thank you.
