Immersion Preschool

Ages 3 – 5

Class Objective: Kindergarten readiness, building social skills, cultural awareness, self-confidence, proper etiquette, problem solving, character development, and academics through international, theme-based learning
Program is State Licensed and receives the highest rating from Parent Aware (review the full curriculum).
Our participation in Parent Aware allows families the opportunity to receive Minnesota’s Think Small Scholarship, see details and if you qualify here.

For consistency and successful learning we require a minimum of 4 half days or 2 full days. Classes are offered up to five days per week. Please choose from the following times:

Program Information:

After School Program: Elementary Education

Grades K-6

Beginning Level 1 (Grades K-5) 

Limit Capacity: 9 students

Class Objective: Focus on basic skills of communicating in French

Prerequisite: None (must be comfortable in an immersion setting)

Program Information: 
Wednesday – Thursday, 4:30-6:00pm

Beginning Level 2-3 (Grades K-5)

Limit Capacity: 9 students

Class Objective: French dialogues, French phonetics & pronunciation, introduction to reading and grammar

Genre Study: Poems related to monthly theme

Prerequisite:  French Level 1 or permission of instructor

One class session minimum required per week.

Program Information:
Monday – Thursday, 
4:30-6:00pm

Pre-Intermediate Level 1-4  (Grades 2-6)

Limit Capacity: 9 students

Class Objective: French Conversational, culture, using past tense, and writing skits

Genre Study: French Children Literature

Prerequisite:  French Level 3 or permission of instructor

One class session minimum required per week.

After School Program: Secondary Education

Grades 7-12

Intermediate Level 1-4 (Grades 7-12)

Limit Capacity: 9 students

Class Objective:  French Conversational, culture, using past tense, understanding grammar rules, and writing short paragraphs to short essays

Genre Study: French Literature

Prerequisite:  Pre-Intermediate Level 3 or permission of instructor

One class session minimum required per week. 

Program Information: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 4:30-6:00pm

A.P. French Prep Class (Grades 9-12)

Limit Capacity: 9 students

Class Objective: Students cultivate understanding of French language and culture by applying interpersonal, interpretive, and presentation modes of communication in real-life situations as they explore concepts related to family and community, personal and public identity, beauty and aesthetics, science and technology, contemporary life, and global challenges. Equivalent to an intermediate level college course in French.

Prerequisite:  At least five years of French and a freshman in high school 

One class session minimum required per week.

Our space is open for students on days they are off from school. All instructions and activities are in French! Instructors are able to help students with homework and pay attention to the areas that need assistance. Our schedule is crafted to respect the breaks students need during a full day of work.

Snack/Outside time, 10:00-11:00am
Reading/Writing, 11:00-11:45am
Lunch/Break, 11:45-12:30pm
Quiet time reading/Recess, 12:30-1:10pm

You can make payments either with a check (payable to Mes Amis French School) or Venmo (@Rose-Mingo-Holtz).

Please bring the following:  
1. Payment or make payment prior to attendance (one month commitment) 
2. AM/PM snack or lunch
3. Non-official copy of immunization record
4. Let us know about any allergies (if so, please bring an Action Plan form and list them on the registration form)
5. EpiPen (if there’s a peanut allergy) 
6. Change of clothes (just in case)

Adult Classes

Beginner Conversational Level 1-2

Class Description: Learn French phrases that are commonly used at the airport, a hotel, restaurant, and among your French colleagues. Practice French vocabulary with the instructor and fellow classmates. Students will also be given worksheets and activities for at home practice.  

Winter Session: January 4 – March 22

Program Information: Monday, 7-8:30pm

Number of Classes: 6

Cost: $120

Materials Needed:  French/English dictionary, pen/pencil, notebook , 3 ring binder

Notes: Classes are non-refundable unless canceled by teacher. This doesn’t apply to inclement weather.

Instructor:  Eyala Manga

Intermediate Conversational Level 3-5

Class Objective: Intense practice in French conversation focusing on increasing and developing listening and communication skills. Provides instruction in its target language for at least three of the following areas: students’ reading, writing, speaking and listening in French and cultures and cultural practices of the French-speaking world.

Prerequisite: Intermediate Level 1 & 2 or permission of instructor

Fall Session: September 14 – December 14
Winter Session: January 4 – March 22
Spring Session: April 12 – May 17
Summer Session: July 12 – August 16
No Class: August 2

Summer Camp

Camp d’été

Ages 3 – 12

* Students required to wear a mask

Come explore Global Francophone Cultures this summer! We’ll learn about different countries’ art, music, geography, cuisine, cultural celebrations, and more all in French. No previous French experience is required, students will be broken into groups based on age and ability.

Summer Session: June 13 – August 19
No Class: July 4 – 8

Program Information:
Monday – Friday
All Day, 8:30am-4:30pm
Morning, 8:30-12:30pm
Afternoon, 12:30-4:30pm

Cost:
5 Full Days, $360/week
5 Half Days, $190/week

What to Bring:
  • For full days and morning students, please provide a healthy snack and bag lunch per child
  • For morning and afternoon sessions, please provide a healthy snack per child
  • Children who nap should bring a small pillow and blanket
  • Weather permitting, children will go outdoors for exercise both morning and afternoon sessions (sunscreen required)

  • $30 registration fee is due at the time of enrollment, remaining balance is due the week prior to camp

Schedule | Register

The registration forms must be filled out prior to the start of the school year. A $75 non-refundable processing fee must be mailed to the office to secure a space for the student (this does not apply to the adult evening class). Classes are non-refundable due to inclement weather, cancellation by parent/student, or no show by student. By filling out the school registration form you have agreed to abide with these terms.

Registration forms are per academic year and are not necessary for each session. Thank you.
