Marie Moïse Louissaint (Madame Mamo) was born and raised in Haiti, where she grew up speaking French and Haitian Creole. She holds a Bachelor of Legal Sciences from the Université d’État d’Haïti, certificates in Business Management and Human Resources from Quisqueya University, and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. As the Lead Toddler Teacher at Mes Amis French School, Madame Mamo is dedicated to fostering a nurturing, language-rich classroom where children aged 16 to 32 months develop independence and curiosity through joyful play. Outside of Mes Amis, she loves spending time with her daughter, Maya, cooking authentic Haitian dishes like griyo, rice and black mushrooms, fried plantains, and pikliz for loved ones, reading, and staying active.

Marie Moïse Louissaint (Madame Mamo) est originaire d’Haïti, où elle a grandi entre le français et le créole haïtien. Elle est titulaire d’une licence en sciences juridiques de l’Université d’État d’Haïti, de certificats en gestion des affaires et en ressources humaines de l’Université Quisqueya, ainsi que d’un diplôme Child Development Associate (CDA). En tant qu’éducatrice principale de la classe des tout-petits (16 à 32 mois) à Mes Amis French School, Madame Mamo a à cœur d’offrir un environnement d’immersion bienveillant et stimulant où les enfants s’épanouissent et découvrent la langue française à travers le jeu et les histoires. En dehors de l’école, elle aime passer des moments précieux avec sa fille Maya, cuisiner de délicieux plats traditionnels haïtiens comme le griyo, le riz aux champignons noirs (djon djon), les bananes pesées et le pikliz pour ses proches, lire et faire du sport.

Born in Budapest, Hungary, Madame Dora spent several years living in France before moving to the United States in 2025. She holds a BA in French Language and Literature and has taught children of many different ages, bringing both linguistic expertise and real warmth to the classroom.

Now in her second year at Mes Amis, she loves helping young children discover French through play, stories, and song. A lifelong lover of theatre and the arts, she weaves creativity into her teaching, so that every day is an opportunity for imagination and expression.

I was born in Le Puy-en-Velay, France, and moved to the United States in 2007. As a native French speaker, I have a deep connection to the French language and culture. I have dedicated my career to working with young children and am passionate about creating a warm, nurturing environment where children feel supported, confident, and excited to learn.

I am an AMI-trained Montessori teacher with more than a decade of experience in early childhood education. I have extensive experience guiding young children in Montessori classrooms and have also taught French to children of various ages. I enjoy fostering independence, curiosity, creativity, and respect while helping children develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy traveling, spending time at the lake with my husband and our two children, ages 12 and 9, and going on hikes and walks. I also love crafts, singing and being part of a choir, and catching up with friends over a good cup of coffee.

I am very excited to join Mes Amis and look forward to sharing my love of the French language and culture with the children. I am especially excited to get to know each child and help make their early learning experience joyful, engaging, and meaningful.

Mme Schmalz is from Rockford, Illinois.  She attended Lawrence University in Wisconsin, where she received a BA in English and Linguistics. During this time she studied in Besançon, France. Later on Mme Schmalz attended the U of M Twin Cities where she received her teaching licensure in Elementary Education. Mme Schmalz lives with her husband and her three daughters in Minnetonka. When she is not at Mes Amis she is spending time with family, writing, reading, and walking her two pit bulls. "Mes Amis is part of our family.  My daughter attended the after school program and now works in the summer as an assistant. I love being part of the Mes Amis community.”

Julia is an administrative professional, passionate about supporting small businesses live fully into their mission and brand. She graduated from St. Olaf College with degrees in Dance and Psychology and has spent the last decade in studio dance education and administration. She still enjoys teaching ballet and modern in studios around the West Metro.

Julia holds a fondness in her heart for French language, and French and Francophone culture. It was the Madeline books by Ludwig Bemelmans that inspired her to choose the beautiful language for study throughout high school and college.

Mme Amelia is a Preschool Assistant and Summer Camp School-Age Lead Teacher. Amelia has been attending Mes Amis since the age of 3 and speaks both French and Spanish fluently. She recently earned an Associate Degree at Normandale Community College, where she was captain of the synchronized swimming team. She then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Elementary Education at the U. At Mes Amis, she helps in the Preschool Room as well as the After School Program part-time as a Teacher Aide. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, swimming, and going to the cabin.
